BLACKWARE GUTTOS, 4TH CENTURY B.C.
Blackware campanian guttos decorated with a nubian profile in its center. Ribbed body, single-handled with a long spout.
The Greeks and Romans knew well the people whom they called Ethiopians, although evidence indicated that the dark-skinned people were of varied tribal and geographic origins. The greco-roman writers described the Ethiopian type in considerable details, such as the colour of their skin, shape of the nose and lips, but their representations are quite uncommon.
