RED-FIGURE PAESTAN PYXIS, 4TH CENTURY B.C.
Beautiful paestane red-figure pyxis decorated on the lid with two feminin profiles framed with birds - thrushes. The rim of the lid is painted with a frieze of waves and the knob with a large palmette.
The details and decorations are made with white highlights. Rare form, approaching to the more common form of a Lekanis, with two horizontal handles on the bowl.
