Lovely miniature statuette of very small size and remarkable delicacy, this terracotta figurine, is a ballplayer.
The ballgame was a sport common to all Mesoamerican cultures, the participants are identifiable by the protections they wear. Being probably originally part of a group, this charming figurine belongs to the corpus of "daily life" scenes dear to the pre-Columbian civilizations.
